Is it working, and what can I fix myself

This is the screen the whole thing is really about. Everything a firm would otherwise ring about lives here, and it is built from the actual shape of support load rather than from a list of readouts. Nine questions cause almost every ticket a product like this receives; each one has a home on this screen and a fix that does not involve anybody else.

It goes out from a shared address today, not from yours. That is the honest current state, written here so nobody has to guess whether something broke.

A filled dot means working; a hollow ring means waiting on something; and the word beside it says which. No hue is doing any work, so the screen reads the same to everybody and the same in a print-out.

Every readout carries when it was last checked and a way to check again — because a status screen with no timestamp is a rumour. (In this preview those times are drawn, not read.)

The nine questions, and where each one is answered without contacting anybody.

"I want everything we've put in"Status → Take a copy

Take a copy of everything is not a formality. Their manual, their threads, their records, their people — theirs, on request, without asking. A firm that knows it can leave is a firm that does not spend its first month asking whether it can.
